About The Founder
Robert Fischer is the Founder and Head of the Fischer Investment Group. Raised in Rhode Island, he was the oldest son of the Founder of the American Finance Corporation. His father, a Financier, built this Company into the largest independently owned Finance company in America. As such, he learned at a very early age about how to evaluate (for financing purposes) factories, hotels, other commercial enterprises, securities and individual consumers. Naturally, as a result of his background, he spent the equivalent of nine years in Universities, studying Business Administration and Finance. He specialized in Capital Market Theory (Risk-Return Management). Eventually, he became an Associate Professor of Finance, teaching undergraduate and graduate students Capital Market Theory. As part of Mr. Fischer’s educational and development experience (some 40 years ago), he specialized on the development and application of Risk Management Theories. Mr. Fischer’s first job, after his University years, was as a financial analyst with Schering Plough Corp in New Jersey, where he developed a computerized financial forecasting system designed to project the cash flow needs of over 40 foreign subsidiaries. Eventually, his father suffered two major heart attacks and the whole family moved to Florida. He spent the next five years as the Controller/CFO and eventually Chief Operating Officer (COO) of a “publicly owned” land development company, known as Land and Leisure, Inc. There he learned all about developing and subdividing large land tracts, the costs associated with preparing home sites for building, and the costs associated with actual home construction. In 1992, Mr. Fischer moved to Norway and spent the next five years as a VP of Sales and Marketing, representing technology based European companies. There, he negotiated major transactions with large companies and foreign governments, including one employer’s (Micro Design AS) sale to the entire country of Portugal an Electronic non-stop tolling system. He spent the next 10 ten years as a VP of Sales and Marketing, selling major enterprise software solutions to large and medium sized companies, including several software systems which were focused on “Risk Management”. In 2003, while living in San Francisco, he had a successful quadruple bypass heart surgery. His doctors suggested that he didn’t need the pressure any longer of running major software companies. So, he semi-retired and moved to Tampa, Florida where he had identified serious investment opportunities. He felt there was great opportunity in Tampa if properties were bought on the correct basis, by minimizing risk. Eventually, several business friends wanted to invest with him. Their satisfaction resulted in relatives, friends of relatives, etc joining in. Over the years, his Group’s geographical reach as well as reputation spread. His Fischer Investment Group became known for obtaining New Real Estate Investment deals that could not be matched for upward price potential along with a complete minimization of investment risk. Mr. Fischer’s Investment Group also became known as the only organization that focuses on protecting the investor’s exposure, while allowing the investor to buy properties at the absolute minimum price that was negotiated with each Builder. Thus, no Fischer Group profit spread was built into the price paid by the investor. Mr. Fischer’s strategy, and that of his Group, has always been that all individuals, including Group principals pay the same price for an investment. Today, the Fischer Investment Group works with several thousand investors, investment clubs and Realtors throughout the US. The Group has always been open to admitting new investors, in order to increase its buying power!
